Our Vision and Mission
Vision
A vibrant and connected community within the Diocese of Haarlem-Amsterdam, where people of different cultures, languages, and backgrounds meet in faith, respect, and solidarity.
We believe that the richness of our diversity does not divide us, but rather brings us closer together as a community in Christ. By celebrating, praying, and supporting one another, we are building a Church that is open, welcoming, and hopeful for everyone.
Mission
The mission of Hart voor Bavo is to bring parishioners from across the diocese together for a day of faith, culture, and encounter. Through the international Eucharistic celebration, cultural activities, food, music, and community initiatives, we aim to strengthen the connection between people and celebrate the cultural richness of our community.
At the same time, this initiative is committed to creating awareness and support for the survival and future of the Church in the Diocese of Haarlem-Amsterdam, so that our community can remain a place of faith, hope, and charity for future generations as well.
History of Hart voor Bavo
The first edition of the 'Hart voor Bavo' program took place on July 13, 2025, in the beautiful cathedral.
Organized by the Indonesian community (KKI Haarlem), it was a day full of warmth, prayer, and fellowship with the aim of raising funds for the maintenance of the cathedral and the works of mercy.

Support Bavo and Caritas
Our primary goal is to grow together in the Catholic faith. Through prayer, celebrations, and fellowship, we seek to strengthen and inspire one another to give faith a place in our daily lives.
In addition, we attach great value to the richness of different cultural backgrounds. Within Hart voor Bavo, we see diversity as a strength that connects us. By embracing each other's traditions, languages, and customs, we build a close-knit and inclusive community where everyone feels welcome.
Finally, Hart voor Bavo wishes to actively contribute to supporting the activities of Bavo and Caritas. As pillars of society, they dedicate themselves to people in need and to the well-being of the community.
